Preface

Our coworker, Jane, told us about her previous workplace and how someone there had tried to eat 10 Arby’s Roast Beef Sandwiches in an hour, on a dare/bet. We got to talking about how many we think we could reasonably put down, and Ben felt he could do six sandwiches.

When the talk of barfing came up, the terms everyone agreed on was that there could be no throwing up during the initial hour of the contest, or for the hour immediately following.

Conditions for Success
  • Consume 6 Arby's Roast Beef Sandwiches within an hour.
Conditions for Failure
  • Barfing within an hour after the contest ends.
  • Barfing during the contest.
  • Not finishing all six sandwiches within an hour's time.
  • Ben preps, while Chris sets his timer.

  • The sandwiches have been purchased!

  • Ben is go!

  • The last sandwich...

Rewards for Success

Ben wins $10 from Chris, and gains rightful control of the “Lord and Master” stein.

Punishments for Failure

Ben will refund the money Chris paid for the 6 Arby’s Roast Beef Sandwiches.

Epilog

Ben did end up successfully putting down all six sandwiches, but he got slower and slower the more he ate. Halfway through, he started cutting each sandwich into halves, then fourths, then eights, then sixteenths… to help make the process seem a little easier.

He won the bet, and never did end up puking. But we heard later that he had a terrible night of semi-sleeplessness, due to all the sodium he consumed. To this day, when he looks at photos of the challenge, he starts to feel a little sick to his stomach…
